FY14 Capital Campaign and Projects Grant Awards Announced
Bravo Greater Des Moines has awarded a total of $215,707 to twelve central Iowa arts and cultural organizations as part of its FY2014 Capital Campaign and Projects (CCP) Grant program.
Eligible applicants were non-profit arts, culture and heritage organizations based in sixteen central Iowa communities that have entered into 28E hotel/motel tax agreements with Bravo Greater Des Moines. Applicants were required to convey a clear need and plan for specific capital campaigns or projects as well as efforts to secure funding from other sources.
After an extensive application review process, the CCP Grant Allocation committee – led by Bravo Executive Committee member John Schmidt – made its recommendations to the Board of Directors, who approved the distribution of $215,707 in awards at its January 2014 meeting. A full list of grant recipients, projects and award amounts is attached.
“These capital awards will help arts and culture organizations grow through needed infrastructure improvements, unique projects and public art,” said Board President Sharon Krause. “These awards help make central Iowa’s arts and cultural offerings available, accessible and pervasive.”
